TRANSCOM Commander talks mobility at NORAD, USNORTHCOM

Peterson Air Force Base — Gen. Darren McDew, USTRANSCOM commander, visited NORAD and USNORTHCOM June 29, 2016, to welcome Gen. Lori Robinson, the new commander of NORAD and USNORTHCOM, and to discuss her vision for the two commands.

A Transfer of Authority ceremony held to recognize the realignment of the Civil Air Patrol-U.S. Air Force – or CAP-USAF – from Air Education and Training Command to Air Combat Command began with the arrival of a CAP C-182 Cessna carrying CAP’s National Commander CAP Maj. Gen. Joe Vazquez and the CAP-USAF commander, Col. Mike Tynismaa. The aircraft landed and approached Tyndall Air Force Base’s base operations, rolling through a ceremonial greeting of fire trucks pumping arching water sprays high over the aircraft.

1st Air Force participates in Civil Air Patrol Transfer of Authority ceremony

TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — The storied history between the U.S. Air Force and Civil Air Patrol added yet another chapter June 24 during a Transfer of Authority ceremony held to recognize the realignment of the Civil Air Patrol-U.S. Air Force – or CAP-USAF – from Air Education and Training Command to Air Combat Command.

New NORAD Deputy Commander hosts this year’s Canada Day Celebrations in Colorado Springs

But the challenges posed by sequestration and the Budget Control Act remain, Army Gen. Charles H. Jacoby Jr. told members of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

113th reaches alert milestone

The 113th Aerospace Control Alert Detachment of the District of Columbia Air National Guard at Joint Base Andrews passed a major air defense milestone January 9, responding to its 4,000th alert event since Operation Noble Eagle started in September, 2001.
