Robinson visits Norfolk

NORAD and USNORTHCOM Public Affairs

Gen. Lori Robinson, commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command visited multiple units at Norfolk, Va. Aug. 11, 2016. 

The commander made stops at U.S. Fleet Forces (USFF) Command, was given a maritime domain awareness brief at the USFF Maritime Operations Center, took a tour of Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Gonzalez (DDG 66), and was inducted into the Joint Forces Staff College Hall of Fame. 

USFF trains, certifies and provides combat-ready Navy forces to Combatant Commanders that are capable of conducting prompt, sustained naval, joint, and combined operations in support of U.S. national interests.  Command and control subordinate Navy forces and shore activities during the planning and execution of assigned service functions in support of CNO. Provides operational planning and coordination support to Commander, U.S. Northern Command (CDR USNORTHCOM), Commander U.S. Element North American Aerospace Defense Command (CDR USELEMNORAD), and Commander, U.S. Strategic Command (CDR USSTRATCOM). Command and control subordinate forces during the planning and execution of joint missions as the Joint Forces Maritime Component Commander North (JFMCC-N) to CDR USNORTHCOM.
