NORAD exercise planned for Washington, D.C. May 02, 2016 — TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – The North American Aerospace Defense Command and its geographical component, the Continental United States NORAD Region (CONR), will conduct exercise Falcon Virgo 16-08 Tuesday night into Wednesday morning in the National Capital Region, Washington, D.C., with flights are scheduled to take place between approximately midnight and 2:30 a.m. (EDT). Canadian Minister of National Defence visits NORAD January 25, 2016 — PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colorado – Defence Minister Harjit S. Sajjan paid his first visit to the North American Aerospace Defense Command Headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado today. During his visit, he met with Admiral Bill Gortney, Commander of NORAD and U.S. Northern Command and Canadian Lieutenant-General Pierre St-Amand, Deputy Commander of NORAD. Discussions focused on a number of issues important to the Canada- U.S. defense relationship, including continental defense, new challenges to North American aerospace defense and NORAD’s continuing evolution to meet those challenges. NORAD celebrates 60 years of tracking Santa December 01, 2015 — PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — The North American Aerospace Defense Command is celebrating the 60th Anniversary of tracking Santa’s yuletide journey! The NORAD TracksSanta website, www.noradsanta.org, launching Dec 1, features Santa’s North Pole Village, which includes a holiday countdown, games, activities, and more. NORAD to conduct exercises near Augusta and Savanna November 18, 2015 — PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – North American Aerospace Defense Command will conduct exercise flights today as they practice intercept and identification procedures. The exercise will occur near Augusta, Georgia and Savanna between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. EST. Although they are scheduled for the morning, the flights could be delayed for 24 hours or cancelled due to weather concerns. MORE
Update on JLENS Operational Exercise November 05, 2015 — On October 28, 2015, the Joint Land Attack Cruise Missile Defense Elevated Netted Sensor (JLENS) Fire Control System (FCS) aerostat detached from its mooring station at G-Field on Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, and eventually grounded in a wooded area in northeast Pennsylvania.
