The purpose of the visit was to meet with NORAD Commander General Jacoby, Deputy Commander Lieutenant-General Parent and other senior leaders in order to gain additional insight into and appreciation of the Commands' unique missions, capabilities and advancement in the previous year and understand critical issues facing NORAD and USNORTHCOM in today's security environment.

Santa’s visit today comes in advance of the commands' annual NORAD Tracks Santa outreach effort, which is expected to reach more than 20 million unique visitors on the www.noradsanta.org website.

CANADIAN FORCES BASE SUFFIELD, Canada - NORAD’s hockey team beat Canadian Forces Base Suffield 7-1 in the final game of the 2013 Annual Canadian Forces Prairie Region Small Base Hockey Championship Feb. 7. The NORAD team, drawing from units across North America, beat the rival team from Suffield in front of a packed house on Suffield’s own ice.

The level of commander recognizes outstanding meritorious service and demonstrated leadership in duties of great responsibility. Parent was originally invested into the Order of Military Merit in 2008.

NORAD to conduct exercise flights over northern Ohio

April 16, 2014 — PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – North American Aerospace Defense Command will conduct exercise flights Thursday, April 17, 2014 as they practice intercept and identification procedures. The exercise will occur over northern Ohio between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. EST.

NORAD exercise planned for Washington, D.C.

April 14, 2014 — TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – The North American Aerospace Defense Command and its geographical component, the Continental United States NORAD Region (CONR), will conduct Exercise Falcon Virgo 14-07 Monday night and into Tuesday morning, then again Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning, in the National Capital Region, Washington, D.C. Flights are scheduled to take place between midnight and 5:30 a.m. (EDT).
