Santa’s visit today comes in advance of the commands' annual NORAD Tracks Santa outreach effort, which is expected to reach more than 20 million unique visitors on the www.noradsanta.org website.

NORAD exercise planned for Washington, D.C.

June 14, 2014 -- TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – The North American Aerospace Defense Command and its geographical component, the Continental United States NORAD Region, will conduct exercise Falcon Virgo 14-10 Monday night, July 14, 2014, through Wednesday morning, in the National Capital Region, Washington, D.C. Flights are scheduled to take place between midnight and 5:30 a.m. (EDT) each day.

NORAD helicopter intercepts general aviation aircraft over Washington, D.C.

June 19, 2014 — PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – One U.S. Coast Guard HH-65 Dolphin helicopter under the direction of the North American Aerospace Defense Command intercepted a general aviation aircraft in the Special Flight Rules Area over Washington D.C. today at approximately 1:30 p.m. EDT. Initially, the aircraft was not talking to air traffic control but re-established communications when it was intercepted and visually identified. The aircraft was then escorted out of the area.

NORAD jets intercept general aviation aircraft over California

June 16, 2014 — PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Fighter jets under the control of the North American Aerospace Defense Command intercepted multiple general aviation aircraft in the Temporary Flight Restricted area over Palm Springs, CA during the past weekend, June 14-16, 2014.
