NORAD takes to the skies over Toronto in Operation NOBLE EAGLE exercise

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — On Thursday, July 30, 2020, Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) CF-18 Hornets and United States Air Force (USAF) F-16s along with a KC-135 refuelling tanker participated in a North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) training operation in the skies over the Greater Toronto Area.

Multilateral Forces Work Together

A Canadian Forces CF-18 fighter intercepts a U.S. Strategic Command B-52 bomber over Canada Aug. 1, 2016 as part of a coordinated exercise. NORAD and STRATCOM conducted intercept and safe passage escort procedures in all three of the NORAD regions to ensure NORAD’s rapid response capability.
