PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Canadian Major General
André Viens, NORAD Director of Operations and Russian General Major Dmitry
Viktorovich Gomenkov, Commander, Aerospace Defense Brigade, will be available
to discuss Exercise VIGILANT EAGLE 13 during a Press Conference held at
Peterson Air Force Base on August 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
Exercise VIGILANT EAGLE is an annual joint exercise
between Russian, Canadian, and U.S. militaries, designed to improve cooperation
and response to a hijacking scenario involving commercial aircraft. This year’s
exercise involved military personnel and aircraft operating in Russia and the
United States.
