PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. – News media organizations are invited to attend the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command Change of Command ceremony Feb. 5, 2024, at 10 a.m., in Hangar 1 (Bldg. 140) on Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado.
Gen. Gregory M. Guillot will assume command from Gen. Glen D. VanHerck, who is retiring after more than 36 years of service. Details on the event, RSVPs and base access are below. Following the ceremony, Gen. Guillot will be available to media for a short time.
Base security will be heightened the day of the ceremony, and only invited guests may attend.
Local area residents may hear ceremonial cannon fire that is scheduled to take place during the ceremony.
The ceremony will be live-streamed via the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service at www.dvidshub.net/webcast/33582.

.NOTE FOR MEDIA: Media planning to cover the ceremony must contact the N&NC Public Affairs Duty Officer, (719) 217-3716 or via email at N-NCPA.omb@mail.mil no later than 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 3, 2024, to arrange for base access. On Feb. 5, 2024, media must arrive at the Visitors' Center at the Peterson Space Force Base West Gate, no later than 7:00 a.m. Plan to transition equipment into a government provided van. A valid government-issued photo I.D. is required for personnel entry. The media van will depart the Visitors' Center for Hangar 140 at 8:00 a.m. The ceremony should conclude at 11:30 a.m. and media representatives will be escorted off base.
