F-16 crashes at Ellington Airport

NORAD and USNORTHCOM Public Affairs

PETERSON AFB, Colo.  –  

An F-16 Fighting Falcon from a detachment of the 138th Fighter Wing, stationed at Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base in Houston, TX, crashed on

take-off today at approximately 9:30 MDT.

The pilot safely ejected and is being evaluated at a local medical facility. 

The aircraft, under the direction of the North American Aerospace Defense Command, was conducting a training flight.
