PITUFFIK SPACE BASE, Greenland - Members of NORAD's binational Air Task Force (ATF) pose for a group photo at Pituffik Space Base, Greenland, on January 29, 2026, as part of Operation NOBLE DEFENDER. Operation NOBLE DEFENDER (OND) is a recurring air defense operation conducted under the direction of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). It is designed to validate the command’s capability to defend Canada and the United States against threats for every angle of approach. NORAD conducts sustained, dispersed operations under OND across the North American content, through one or all NORAD regions (Alaska, Canada and the continental U.S.).
