PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. - Royal Canadian Air Force Lt.-Gen. Blaise Frawley, deputy commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command, hosts the celebration of NORAD’s 66th Anniversary in the atrium of the headquarters on Peterson Space Force Base, Colo., May 10, 2024. U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. James K. Porterfield, command senior enlisted leader, NORAD and U.S. Northern Command, joined with Senior Airman Chloe Serafin in cutting the ceremonial cake in front of the crowd of U.S. and Canadian service members and civilians in attendance. The tradition of celebrating the NORAD anniversary dates to the original signing of the NORAD Agreement, formalizing the establishment of NORAD, that took place May 12, 1958. The agreement included 11 principles governing the organization and operation of NORAD and called for a renewal in 10 years. (Department of Defense photo by Jhomil Bansil)
