The Remembrance Run, conducted in recognition of POW/MIA Recognition Day as well as the victims of 9/11, is a relay run spanning 45 miles through Colorado Springs and began at the NORAD and USNORTHCOM 9/11 Memorial. Each five-person team of cadets runs one mile, ending with a 39-hour run commemorating the 39 years since Operation Homecoming, which airlifted U.S. prisoners of war from North Vietnam.
