Gen. Gene Renuart, center, commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, and Kirk Brown, NORAD and USNORTHCOM Combined Federal Campaign chairperson, accept the CFC Regional Excellence Award from Pikes Peak CFC Regional Director Barbara Fitz during a ceremony at command headquarters Jan. 7, 2008. The commands earned the award by increasing their percentage of participants more than any other agency in the region's 2007 Combined Federal Campaign. The commands also raised five thousand dollars more than their goal of $203,000. Directorates in the commands received 14 gold, one silver and one bronze award for their CFC donations, and Brown and Air Force Capt. Mark Walker both received CFC Hero Awards. Brown also was designated as the CFC Regional Civilian Hero and is now eligible for national recognition.
