USAFA Christmas concerts and NORAD Tracks Santa bring the Christmas spirit to Colorado

By NORAD and USNORTHCOM Public Affairs

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. - The Christmas spirit is definitely among us, and for more than 12,750 Coloradans, it was mainly due to the amazing Christmas concerts given by the U.S. Air Force Academy Band.

Every year, the USAFA Band provides Christmas entertainment throughout Colorado. This year, the musicians visited Aurora, Longmont, Greeley, Pueblo and Colorado Springs.

To add to the Christmas entertainment, Air Force Maj. Karl Fruendt, NORAD and U.S. Northern Command joint logistics officer and official NORAD Tracks Santa Tracker was also there to recruit new “trackers” to follow Santa on his journey around the world on Dec. 24.

“Throughout the year the men and women of NORAD work hard to provide aerospace and maritime security for North America, but for this one night every year, we are able to bring the magic of Christmas to children around the world,” Fruendt said. “We at NORAD are honored to be a part of so many peoples’ holiday traditions.”
