NORAD Canada Day Events Suspended

By NORAD and USNORTHCOM Public Affairs

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. - In light of the current wildfire situation, North American Aerospace Defense Command Canadian Forces personnel are suspending Canada Day celebration events and activities to focus their efforts on assisting the local community, our friends and colleagues.

“This city is our home and we share the same concerns as all our neighbors,” said Lieutenant-General Tom Lawson, NORAD Deputy Commander. “I believe it’s therefore appropriate for us to pool our resources at this time, in order to face these challenges together. We look forward to celebrating Canada’s birthday when the right conditions return. Meanwhile, we’ll get through this difficult time together.”
