PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – The Senate confirmed March 19 the nominations of Navy Adm. Timothy J. Keating for reappointment to the grade of admiral and to be commander of U.S. Pacific Command and Air Force Lt. Gen. Victor E. Renuart Jr. to be promoted to general and commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command.
Keating has served as commander of NORAD and USNORTHCOM since November 5, 2004. Renuart is currently the senior military assistant to Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and will receive a fourth star before assuming command at NORAD and USNORTHCOM.
Keating will turn over command to Renuart in a change of command ceremony Friday, March 23, beginning at 10 a.m. at Peterson Air Force Base.
